Stephen is one of the UK’s most experienced, commercially-minded and innovative environmental lawyers. He has unrivalled, practical experience of mitigating complex environmental risks using combinations of environmental data, environmental insurance and environmental law.

Stephen works very closely with his property colleagues at Capital, as well as external environmental consultants, data scientists and specialist environmental insurance brokers, to facilitate corporate and real estate transactions.

He is a co-founder of the City of London’s environmental insurance market and leading environmental data business, Argyll Environmental. His work on the legal implications arising from the impact of climate change on UK real estate is pioneering and is relevant to all UK landowners, developers and funders.
