David R. White

David is contributing chapters on Highways and Animals to Binghams’ Personal Injury and Motor Claims Cases (2023).

He is recognised as a future leader across a number of Chambers’ key areas, including coronial, health and safety, and personal injury and common law work. He has been instructed in a number of high-profile cases, both alone, and as a junior. Before the Bar, he served a short commission in the British Army.

David has extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of personal injury and clinical negligence, including in loss of dependency claims and complex quantum disputes with, for example, loss of earnings/pension and future care claims. He has a focus on military claims, given his background, and particular knowledge of issues relating to vicarious liability, having succeeded in the Court of Appeal in Kafagi v JBW Group Ltd. [2018] EWCA CIV 1157.

David acts for both claimants and defendants across a broad range of areas, in particular in employers’, product and public liability matters. He has particular interest and experience in cases relating to outdoors and adventurous activities and sports and has acted for some of the country’s largest leisure providers.

He has also been instructed in many sensitive and lengthy cases, including the London Bridge Inquests, and the Inquests relating to the Shoreham Air Disaster.
