Emma Northey

She specialises in Personal Injury, Inquests, and Civil Fraud. Approximately 75% of her cases relate to road traffic accidents.

She has a particular interest in the developing law relating to CAVs (Connected and Autonomous Vehicles), often nicknamed “driverless” cars. She co-founded, designed and edits Temple Garden Chambers’ aevlaw.com blog.

Before coming to the Bar, Emma was a Trading Standards Officer for 15 years. Between 2003 and 2010, she was the Trading Standards Institute’s national Lead Officer for Road Traffic law.

Emma is delighted to have been given the opportunity to contribute to Binghams. She will be writing Chapter 37 - General Principles of Motor Insurance.
