Pete Coyne
Pete Coyne joined CMS as a trainee in 2001 and has specialised in pensions since qualification in 2003. He became a partner in 2011. Pete is a member of the Legislative & Parliamentary Committee of the APL and a current TPAS Adviser. He advises employers and trustees on general pensions issues, litigation matters and the pensions aspects of corporate transactions.
Recent experience:
- advised on the merger of 17 UK final salary schemes ' one of the largest ever conducted in the UK
- advises the trustees of many large and complex pension schemes
- currently advising the trustees of a very large pension scheme on a longevity insurance transaction
- advises a number of insurance companies on bulk annuity contracts with occupational pension scheme trustees
- advised on a large claim that recently settled, on advantageous terms, which was made by trustees against an insurance company relating to the equalisation of normal retirement ages for men and women
- advised the trustees of one of the first schemes to enter a PPF assessment period
