Bethan Price#11224

Bethan Price

Trainee Solicitor, Kennedys
Bethan started her training contract at Kennedys in September 2021. She has focused her training on insurance coverage work and has gained experience in a broad range of industries, including Financial Lines, Political Risk, Marine, Aviation, Travel and Energy.

Bethan is particularly interested in work with an international and political slant, due to her academic background. Furthermore, she enjoys considering novel risks which present complex and unfamiliar issues for insurers and their legal teams to grapple with.

Bethan has completed an in-depth analysis on what obligations travel companies owe to their customers when a holiday is interrupted/cancelled by Covid-19. She produced an article summarising her findings which was published in ABTA’s online magazine and presented at ABTA’s Travel Law conference.

Recently, Bethan has been working on several political violence claims in Haiti, South Africa and Ukraine. She has enjoyed the challenge of assessing whether or not violence should be considered “political” in the context of the broader social dynamics of the locality, and the specific wording of insurance policies covering such risks.
