Saif Almobideen
Saif is a bilingual senior civil qualified lawyer with over 12 years of experience in the UAE, representing clients in various litigation and arbitration proceedings. He has a wide range of clients, including leading regional and international "household names" vary amongst leading auction houses, international trade financiers, US hedge funds, insurers, P&I Clubs, and shipowners.
Saif has established himself as one of the "go-to-lawyers" for complex disputes before the civil courts in the Middle East region. He regularly advises clients on local disputes (concerning civil and criminal proceedings) and regularly engaged with the local courts, authorities, public prosecutors, and court-appointed experts. He has represented and advised clients in hundreds of litigation cases and arbitration proceedings under the DIFC-LCIA (now defunct), DIAC, LCIA and LMAA rules.
Saif has acted on some highly notable cases which are in the media spotlight, including – for the first time in the history of civil courts in the region – setting up a limitation fund for the owners of a Ro-Ro Cargo vessel before the Aqaba Court in Jordan, following a major oil pollution incident. He also resolved a landmark case in the UAE judicial system, whereby the Dubai local court applied English law principles and awarded a judgment in favour of our client.
He is ranked as a 'Rising Star' in the Legal 500 2023 guide, where he is described by clients as being "commercially and strategically astute" and is praised for "his analytical and technical skills".
