Emily Waters
Emily is a Trainee Solicitor at Freeths LLP, where she brings a diverse range of legal experience, having worked across the Construction, Family, and Intellectual Property sectors. Her experience spans both in-house roles and positions within law firms.
She holds a First Class Law Degree with Honours and is presently engaged in the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) in conjunction with her training contract.
At present, Emily is working with the Intellectual Property team where she provides support to the lawyers across the London and Birmingham offices. Her work encompasses both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Her responsibilities include assisting with trade marks, registered and unregistered designs, passing off, and copyright matters. She also aids in the handling of IP assignment agreements; IP infringement claims; influencer agreements; and media and advertising matters.
During her seat in Intellectual Property, she contributed to the drafting of updates for the Protection of geographical indications EU and Protection of geographical indications UK practice notes. This experience has further honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the field.
