Katrina Anderson
Katrina advises international businesses and consumer brand owners on regulatory compliance with regulation that touches on a business’ relationships with consumers. This includes consumer protection, food labelling, digital & e-commerce regulation, and advertising/marketing law. Katrina has expertise and experience in food and beverage, consumer products and technology products. She is experienced in supporting clients through the consultation and implementation of regulatory change such as the new rules on advertising HFSS foods to children, New Deal for Consumers and the DSA and has a particular focus is the regulation of FoodTech – in particular novel foods and alternative proteins.
Day-to-day Katrina’s practice typically includes helping clients launch new products, setup DTC e-commerce platforms, advise on how to engage on proposals for new regulation, drafting consumer terms and conditions, promotions, copy clearance, labelling, and compliance with food & alcohol regulation.
Katrina regularly represents clients when dealing with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), Trading Standards and other regulatory bodies: both defending clients when a complaint has been made and assisting clients in making complaints to regulators.
Katrina has worked in both private practice and been on secondment in-house at Nestlé and Google. Before starting her career in law, I worked for ten years as a client manager advising global food and drink manufacturers on advertising and brand strategy.
