Before joining Lexis Nexis, Elinor spent 15 years in private practice advising owners and contractors in international construction projects on dispute avoidance, management and resolution. 

Elinor has worked in several jurisdictions, including on projects in the Middle East, the US, Africa, Europe, India and Sri Lanka, and on a wide range of projects from roads and railways, hotels and leisure projects, to process plants and LNG facilities.  

Elinor has advised on issues arising from all aspects of construction projects. Elinor has been involved in construction related disputes at every stage, from initial exchanges between the parties, negotiations, through dispute boards and other statutory or contractual adjudication proceedings, through to final resolution by mediation or arbitration. Elinor has worked on construction project arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, LMAA and UNICITRAL rules, and on cases before the Commercial Court and the TCC.  Elinor has also been involved in arbitration award enforcement proceedings before the Sri Lankan High Court.

Elinor holds a Master’s Degree in Construction Law and Arbitration from King’s College, London. 

Elinor has particular experience and interest in claims for damages for defective work, the use of experts and privilege in construction project arbitrations, the FIDIC forms of contract, and the use of alternative dispute resolution in construction projects, especially the use of dispute boards.
