Fred Kuchlin

Fred is a senior associate specialising in high-value and complex commercial disputes in both international arbitration and court proceedings.

Fred has deep experience of working on high value and hard fought cases that often involve multiple sets of parallel proceedings around the world. Over the past decade, he has worked on many of the most prominent disputes in the London market.

Fred has particular expertise in international commercial arbitration, including proceedings under the LCIA and ICC arbitration rules. Having spent six months on secondment to the LCIA's casework team, Fred has a detailed knowledge of the LCIA's arbitration rules.

Fred also has extensive experience of litigation before the English courts, including proceedings before the Commercial Court, Court of Appeal and UK Supreme Court.

Fred has particular experience of pursuing and resisting challenges to awards from London seated arbitrations before the English courts, and of offshore enforcement proceedings. Having studied Russian at university, Fred also has a particular interest in, and extensive experience of, disputes arising from the CIS.

As a solicitor advocate, Fred has rights of audience before all English courts in civil proceedings. He also has rights of audience before the AIFC Court in Kazakhstan.

Fred joined RPC in 2020 after six years in the arbitration group of another international law firm
