Joy-Tendai Kangere, B.L.
Joy-Tendai Kangere BL is a Junior Counsel with a civil practice and a special interest in Employment Law at the Bar of Ireland. She studied at the Honorable King’s Inns, following completion of her BCL law degree at UCD Sutherland School of Law. She is a dedicated equity advocate inspired by the African principle of Ubuntu (I am because we are) which speaks to community, unity, respect, and dignity. Joy-Tendai is fuelled by being community-focussed and authentically using her voice to elevate everyone that she connects with.
Joy-Tendai is an international public speaker , writer, columnist, lecturer and Founder. She regularly contributes to topics of race, justice and equity as well as being called upon for her expertise in justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion advocacy. Her contribution to equitable education in Ireland has been recognised by The Open University and was awarded an honorary doctorate, Doctor of The University (DUniv.), in 2024.
She is a Founder, and currently sits of The Bar of Ireland Council, The Honorable King’s Inns Council and various Committees of Specialist Bar Associations at The Bar of Ireland . Born in Zimbabwe, Joy-Tendai is a Denham Fellow, a former Board Member of AONTAS (Adult Learning Charity) and in 2023 contributed to the afterword of ‘Reunion: Leadership and the Longing to Belong’ , a book by American life-coach and author, Jerry Colonna.
