John Forde
John is a senior associate in Trowers & Hamlins' Projects and Construction department, which he joined in 2005. John qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand in 1999, and was admitted as a solicitor in England in Wales in May 2007. John specialises in advising commercial clients and local government bodies on non-contentious construction law. He negotiates and drafts building and engineering contracts and professional appointments. He has particular experience in advising on the use of the PPC2000 and TPC2005 partnering contract forms. John has experience in advising social landlords and private sector contractors on innovative contractual strategies such as joint venture and subsidiary models, use of open-book pricing and incentives, and engagement with the supply chain.
John also advises on public sector procurement and EU procurement in relation to public sector asset management programmes and developments, and also advises on leaseholder consultation obligations in relation to procurement exercises. John has particular experience advising on procurement of long-term partnering arrangements, framework arrangements, strategic alliance agreements, supply chain agreements, and use of the Competitive Dialogue procedure. John is a frequent speaker at construction industry conferences and events, and regularly presents training programmes on public sector procurement and the use of partnering contracts.
