John Fotheringham

John is one of the few solicitors in Scotland to hold the double accreditation in both Child Law and Family Law. He has over 30 years' experience in these spheres, representing clients in the Court of Session and in the Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. John is a trained collaborative lawyer and he has a specialist interest in child support cases.

He lectures widely to audiences of lawyers in Scotland and in England and frequently appears in the media, speaking on family law matters, including Child Support, Cohabitation Rights and Forced Marriage.

John is an affiliate member of Resolution. He is also the General Editor of the Butterworth Scottish Family Law Service and a former Chairman of Child Support and Social Security Appeal Tribunals.
