Diego Hernández De Lamotte
Diego has been a member of the Competition Law practice group at FerradaNehme since 2007, on different positions, being promoted to partner on 2018. He studied a Diploma in Competition Law and Policy at Universidad de Chile, a MSc in Economic Regulation at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez, and a Competition Law LL.M. at King's College London.
Diego has actively participated on the most diverse matters covered by competition law and policy, bringing together the legal and technical side of complex issues. In fact, he has provided legal and technical advice by drafting reports and representing clients before the Fiscalía Nacional Económica (FNE ' National Economic Prosecutor) and the Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia (TDLC - Antritust Tribunal) in cases related to mergers, cartels and abuses of dominant positions, combining the legal approach of such problems with the necessary underlying economic viewpoint. He has also conducted antitrust competition compliance programs.
Diego has complemented this deep practical knowledge with a determined interest on academic activities. Indeed, he has been invited on several occasions to be Competition Law Lecturer in both undergraduate and post graduates programs at Universidad de Chile and Adolfo Ibáñez. He also has a relevant number of publications both in Chile and in the United Kingdom.
