Cathy Hoar

Cathy has specialised in employment law since 2001, and joined LexisNexis in September 2012. After training with Richards Butler, Cathy initially practised for two years as a commercial and corporate solicitor. She worked at Davenport Lyons, Synergy Employment Law Solicitors (established by the former head of Employment at Davenport Lyons), and Adams & Remers LLP (as an Associate). In practice, Cathy advised extensively on contentious and non-contentious employment law, and also provided training to clients on dealing with issues such as discipline and grievances, poor performance, sickness absence and diversity. Cathy also ran her own retail business for three years. Her particular interests include data protection (GDPR) issues in employment, TUPE and corporate transactions, employee status and other worker categories, post-termination restrictions, confidentiality, IP, and bonus and incentive arrangements.
