Alex Kay
Alex Kay joined Herbert Smith Freehills LLP in 1995, qualifying in 1997. He became a Partner in 2003.
Alex advises on a wide range of corporate finance, public and private M&A transactions and on governance issues , specialising in advising corporates and financial institutions on cross border takeovers, M&A and restructurings.
Alex leads our financial institutions practice and is experienced in advising on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and major commercial arrangements in this area. He also has particular experience of the real estate, technology, media and telecommunications sectors. Clients he regularly advises include the Coca-Cola Company, Ernst & Young, the Governor and Company of the Bank of Ireland, Hammerson, Michael Page International and Time Warner.
Alex contributes to Hannigan and Prentice's The Companies Act 2006: A Commentary. He is the editor of the European Company Law chapter of Tolley's Company Law Handbook and on the Takeovers section of Buckley on the Companies Acts.

- Ernst & Young on the multi-jurisdictional administration of Nortel, including over US$5 billion worth of disposals
