Richard Barham, Partner

Richard is a senior partner in the Corporate department of SNR Denton's London office and has particular experience in mergers and acquisitions (both public and private), joint ventures and privatizations. Richard also regularly advises on establishing and restructuring companies and businesses (including debt-equity swaps), public and private securities issues, other commercial agreements and associated regulatory issues.

A large proportion of the transactions on which Richard has advised have been in the transportation sector (rail, road and air - including a three-year period working on the UK rail privatisation) and the financial sector (such as leasing business acquisitions, banking joint ventures, internal reorganizations, credit card schemes and other consumer credit agreements).

Most of the transactions in which Richard has been involved have been international and in particular, he has acted on investments in the US, CIS and Africa and advised US businesses on inward investment into the UK and Europe.

Richard heads SNR Denton's CIS task force, working with heads of the Moscow, Almaty and Tashkent offices to co-ordinate the firm's CIS work.

He also advises public sector clients, including the UK Government.
