Marika Lemos
Marika Lemos' practice covers all areas of tax law and includes both contentious and non-contentious work. She specialises in all aspects of tax litigation (direct and indirect taxes). She also accepts instructions in the context of commercial litigation, trust and pension disputes, Variation of Trust Act applications and professional negligence cases where tax is involved.
On the advisory side, her clients include UK and international trustees, individuals and businesses. She specialises in advising on how to structure onshore and offshore trusts, farms and businesses; UK and cross-border estate planning; deeds of variation; domicile and the remittance basis; residence of individuals, partnerships and corporates; funds and incentives structuring; unwinding EBTs; disposals of businesses; immunities from tax; property holding structures; taxation of pension; etc.
Marika writes extensively, has taught tax law (formerly at King's College London, more recently at Cambridge University) and is regularly asked to lecture fellow professionals on various tax topics. She is co-author of the 5th, 6th and upcoming 7th editions of 'McCutcheon on Inheritance Tax'.
