Mark Beeley
Mark is a partner in Vinson & Elkins's international dispute resolution practice group and is based in London. Mark's practice is primarily focused on international dispute resolution (through arbitration, litigation, or ADR techniques) and includes advising clients on the drafting and selection of dispute resolution/jurisdiction/forum clauses, as well as nationality planning in connection with investments in foreign jurisdictions. In addition, he advises on bribery, corruption and international sanctions violation issues, particularly those connected with the UK. He has acted as arbitration counsel and advocate under all the major arbitral rule systems (including ICSID, LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL, DIAC, AAA, HKIAC, and CIArb) and in most common arbitral seats. Additionally, Mark has been involved in both defending and raising challenges to awards in various jurisdictions, and has acted as arbitrator. Away from arbitration Mark has acted as both solicitor and counsel in proceedings before the English High Court, and appears as advocate in the Dubai International Financial Centre Court. Predominantly, his cases either arise from the energy sector or have a complex technology element.
