Lynne Moss
Lynne is a senior associate in Burness Paull's Health, Safety and Corporate Crime division. Her work includes health and safety prosecutions, fatal claims, personal injury actions and Fatal Accident Inquiries.
Lynne has a range of experience advising on all aspects of safety and regulatory compliance. She regularly advises clients in the offshore oil and gas industry, as well as in the marine, construction and engineering sectors.
Lynne also provides training to senior managers on corporate and individual compliance with health and safety duties.
Lynne also provides advice on other aspects of corporate crime, including bribery and corruption and export control and international sanctions.
Early in her career she worked almost exclusively in the area of personal injury (representing mostly defenders) and during that time dealt with numerous offshore accidents. It is for this reason that she has a special interest in cases involving an offshore oil and gas element.
More recently Lynne has provided advice to a duty holder following a direction by the Health and Safety Executive to revise a safety case for an offshore installation, as well as providing advice to a duty holder in relation to an appeal against an Improvement Notice for breach of health and safety legislation offshore. She has also supported clients during investigations following an accident offshore, including a fatal accident involving a fall from height in which both the police and the HSE were involved.
