Sharmilla Bhima

Sharmilla Bhima, Senior Associate ' Mauritius, is a member of both the Corporate & Commercial Department and the Corporate Finance Team of Appleby. Sharmilla is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn UK (non-practising), the Mauritius Bar Association and the Vice-President of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn Alumni (Mauritius). She specialises in civil, commercial, corporate and employment matters. She has acquired expertise on intellectual property law through her Chairmanship of the Industrial Property Tribunal and works closely with other Appleby Offices on IP matters concerning registration of industrial property rights in Mauritius. Sharmilla has retained some practice before the Supreme Court of Mauritius before which she appeared for (i) a leading Australian bank in proceedings (ii) for creditors in ship arrest matters of which one matter is a leading authority in Mauritius and (iii) is presently involved in the enforcement of two foreign judgments of which one is a leading authority in Mauritius.
