Professor Catherine Rogers

Catherine Rogers is the Chair of Transnational Commercial Law, Professional Regulation & Ethics at Queen Mary, University of London and Professor of Law & International Relations at Penn State Law. She teaches and lectures throughout the world in the areas of international dispute resolution, international arbitration and professional legal ethics, and is a Reporter on the Restatement (Third) of the U.S. Law of International Commercial Arbitration. She first began writing about the need for clearer ethical regulation in international arbitration in a series of law review articles that were published in 2001-05. Among other prizes, these articles were blindly selected by leading U.S. law professors for inclusion in two of the Stanford-Yale Junior Faculty Forums. Since then, Professor Rogers' scholarship has expanded to consider more generally the emergence of the attorney as a global legal actor and the role of international dispute resolution in promoting world order. She continues to be active in efforts in the field of international arbitration to implement in practice many of the ideas and proposals developed in her scholarly work. Her book Ethics in International Arbitration was published in 2014.
