Catherine Sear

Catherine Sear is a partner in Proskauer's Tax Department. She specialises in tax matters relating to private investment funds (including private equity, venture capital, infrastructure, debt and real estate funds, funds of funds and secondary funds) and their managers. She advises sponsors and investors on a wide variety of UK and international tax issues related to structuring and investing in private investment funds, as well as advising on tax issues related to asset management businesses. In the course of her practice she advises on a broad range of UK tax issues including VAT, employment tax, withholding taxes, tax matters relating to partnerships, and the tax regime for carried interest. She was acknowledged as one of Financial News's 40 Under 40 Rising Stars for Legal Services in 2016.
