Alexander Stout

Alexander N. Stout is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Stout's practice focuses on representing communications and information technology companies in both transactional and regulatory matters, as well as data privacy and security. Mr. Stout represents wireline, wireless and satellite clients before the Federal Communications Commission and advises companies on the telecommunications regulatory requirements of mergers and acquisitions. He has advised numerous clients on data protection and privacy practices and has responded to data breaches across multiple industry sectors. Mr. Stout attended Duke University School of Law where he served as an Articles Editor of Law and Contemporary Problems. He received a Master of Science degree in Public Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Stout served as a policy adviser and special assistant at the United States Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Stout engaged with interagency and private sector leadership and provided advice and support to the Assistant Secretary of Cybersecurity and Communications on policy, organizational management and day-to-day operations.
