Noy Trounson

Barrister, DLA Piper
Noy is an employed barrister in DLA Piper's UK Safety Health and Environment ("SHE") team, based in the Sheffield and London offices. After pupillages in both chancery and criminal chambers he worked for 17 years as an in-house lawyer with the British Coal Corporation at the Corporation's London headquarters, specialising in mining law, the then developing field of environmental law and Parliamentary business relating to Private Bills. Following the outsourcing of much of the Corporation's legal department, Noy stayed on in-house to work on aspects of the privatisation of the coal-mining industry. Following the privatisation he moved into the private sector and worked for a period as a professional support lawyer in the Environmental Department of Nabarro Nathanson. During that time he represented that firm on the CBI's Environment Committee, and was heavily involved in discussions on the development of the Guidance for Part IIA Environmental Protection Act 1990. Noy has been with DLA Piper since 1997, both as a fee-earner and as a provider of professional support to the firm's SHE team.
