Alex Cisneros
Alex Cisneros is a specialist public law and private client barrister. His practice covers a wide variety of contexts concerning mental capacity, healthcare and education.
Alex appears in all courts (both as sole and junior counsel) and is frequently instructed to advise on private client and mental capacity matters. Recent examples include: claims under the Inheritance (Family and Dependants) Act 1975, Forced Marriage Protection Orders, Human Rights Act claims and statutory will applications.
Alex is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society and contributes to discussions about mental health legislation in Commonwealth member states. His international work has also included advising overseas dependencies and crown dependencies about their mental health and mental capacity legislation.
Alex is on the committee of the Court of Protection Bar Association, he is a Member of the Beckmead Family of SEN Schools and a Trustee of the Centre for Young Musicians, a division of the Guildhall School of Music. In 2018, Alex was appointed a Bar Council social mobility advocate, a role that he is proud of.
