Charles Brooks

Charles is a partner in the corporate team of the Business Services Division. He qualified in 1980. Charles specialises in corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, MBOs, private equity, joint ventures, reorganisations and start-ups and has a particular interest in legal and business structures. He acts as advisor to a number of our charitable clients, which is supplemented by his experience on several charity trustee boards. He is also a member of the firm's professional practices group, and advises on various aspects of partnership matters, mainly on the non-contentious side. Between 1989 and 1994 Charles set up and headed our Paris office. He continues to advise clients on French property acquisitions and sales, and related French capital taxation and he heads our French property team. He qualified as a Frenchavocat à la cour at the Paris Bar in 1993. Charles is one of our representatives for Multilaw, the international association of lawyers to which we belong, and is currently European Regional Chairman and an Executive Council Member. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Charity Lawyers Association and the Franco-British Lawyers Society
