Claire Lamkin
Claire is a partner at Kingsley Napley LLP, and responsible for the provision of the firm’s property litigation services. Claire trained at specialist property litigation firm Dewar Hogan where she remained for 9 years, attaining partnership before moving to Piper Smith Watton LLP (now part of Blake Morgan LLP) where she led a dedicated team servicing the firm's retail occupiers. Claire specialises in all aspects of property disputes and also provides advice and representation before matters become contentious. Her commercial areas of focus include rights to light, development agreements, mortgagees in possession, lease renewals, insolvency and other asset management issues such as forfeiture, recovery of arrears, service of break notices, service charges, squatters and dilapidations. Unlike many property litigators, Claire also advises on residential property including possession actions, boundary disputes, easements and restrictive covenants.
Claire acts on behalf of both landlords and tenants, occupiers, investors and developers, and homeowners and as part of her role, provides targeted training sessions to her clients and has delivered seminars for other professional bodies as part of their CPD programme, e.g. RICS and Hospice UK.
Some of the key cases in which Claire has been involved are Janet Reger International v Tiree Limited [2006] EWHC 1743 (Ch); IDA v University of Southampton [2006] EWCA Civ 145; Paragon Finance Plc v City of London Real Property Co Ltd [2001] 7 WLUK 369; and representation of one of the Defendants to July 2018 in UBS AG v Rose Capital Ventures Ltd & ors [2018] EWHC 3137 (Ch).
