Practice notes

This Practice Note examines the nature of design and build insurance which is used by contractors undertaking design and build projects and explains the difference between professional indemnity insurance taken out by consultants. The note explains that this type of insurance only covers design work and other professional duties, but it does not provide any cover in respect of the construction works. The note also deals with the other typical exclusions from this type of policy.
