Jake Hayes
Jake is an intellectual property lawyer who specialises in contentious and transactional
matters.
On the contentious side, Jake has represented clients in proceedings in the Court of
Appeal, High Court and IPEC. Jake has also represented clients in opposition, validity and
revocation actions in relation to trade marks and design rights before the UK Intellectual
Property Office (UKIPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Jake
also has extensive experience in relation to brand and IP rights protection strategies.
On the non-contentious side, Jake has advised clients on and drafted a range of
commercial contracts including multi-territorial licensing, distribution, manufacturing and
confidentiality agreements. Jake also has a data protection practice, advising clients on
various compliance needs, for example drafting privacy policies and data processing
agreements.
Prior to working in the legal sector, Jake worked for several national charities where he
formed commercial partnerships and brand licensing agreements with major companies
throughout the UK.
