David Harris

Professional Development Lawyer, Browne Jacobson
I worked for over seven years on qualification in the Property department at Browne Jacobson in Nottingham doing a wide range of general commercial property work. I then spent over 11 years as a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Law School designing and delivering, amongst other things, Advanced Commercial Property and Property Law and Practice modules on the LPC and Land Law and Equity and Trusts modules on the GDL and LLB programmes. I also designed and delivered training for newly-qualified lawyers.

I took up my current role in 2012. I provide professional support to all fee earners in the Real Estate department across four different offices covering a variety of different sectors (e.g. health, education, retail, social housing and public authority) and work types (e.g. investment, development, secured lending, corporate support and landlord and tenant). Amongst other things, I organise and deliver training, carry out research, deal with technical queries from fee earners, provide regular technical updates both internally and externally for in-house lawyer clients, curate know-how material, present at external events for clients and contacts, update precedents and write articles and blogs on the firm’s website.
