Helen Mitcheson

Helen is a solicitor in Freeths planning and environment team. Helen has specialised in environmental work for over ten years and prior to becoming a solicitor she worked as an environmental consultant and environmental scientist. She has experience advising on a range of issues including environmental impact assessments (EIA) for onshore and offshore developments in different jurisdictions, onshore and offshore permitting requirements, transactional support and regulatory obligations. 

Helen speaks regularly at both international and national conferences on the complex relationship between environmental law and particular areas of science, and is a guest lecturer on this topic on the MSc Marine Mammal Science course at the University of St Andrews. She is also the author of a number of environmental law journal articles and is the regional chair of the UK Environmental Law Association.
