Philip joined JMW in London in January 2020, having previously been a director and head of IP disputes at a leading intellectual property boutique.

Philip, having graduated from Durham and Oxford universities in Law and Intellectual Property respectively, is well known for identifying technicalities in any given IP litigation case and using them to the benefit of his clients, while being straight talking.

Philip’s areas of expertise include identifying his clients' intellectual property, assisting with securing that intellectual property through registration and protecting it by way of specialist intellectual property dispute resolution.

Philip has been described by the Legal 500 as a "next generation lawyer" and "very sound litigator" and is well known for successfully defending parties in complex IP court proceedings in both the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and High Court. Philip also deals with intellectual property oppositions and invalidity proceedings in both the UK Intellectual Property Office and the EU IPO.

Outside of work, Philip is a keen sailor and is often to be found sailing along the South Coast.
