James is regularly instructed in all aspects of private client, but he has a particular focus on wills, estates, 1975 Act, TOLATA, and trusts matters as well as related professional negligence. His practice is predominantly litigation, and he has extensive experience of dealing with all types of disputes from small/modest domestic estates/trusts through to multimillion pound estates/trusts with international elements. He also advises and represents parties in Court of Protection matters and provides expert advice in respect of tax and tax planning (principally capital taxation). James originally qualified in a specialist matrimonial finance/family chambers, and this family background gives him an unrivalled ability to advise on deemed and actual spousal/civil partnership 1975 Act claims.
