Daniel Kozelko

Daniel has a developing planning law practice. He has recently been instructed to advise on permitted development rights in the Green Belt, the use of rural previously developed land, and the planning considerations relevant to the noise produced by places of worship. Daniel also appears in planning inquiries, and recently succeeded in representing an enforcing council against an appeal brought by a land owner running a car showroom from his residential property.
 
Daniel is a contributor to Butterworths Planning Law Service, and has recently written on the application of the public sector equality duty to the construction of highways infrastructure. Previously, Daniel was judicial assistant at the Supreme Court to Lord Carnwath of Notting Hill. He worked on number of planning and heritage cases including Dill v Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government [2020] UKSC 20 and R(Samuel Smith Old Brewery (Tadcaster)) v North Yorkshire CC [2020] UKSC 3.
