Carys Ley

Carys Ley is a newly qualified Associate in the Regulatory and Commercial Dispute Resolution Team at Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP. During her training contract, Carys has gained experience working with both UK and international clients on a range of issues including product recalls, product safety, marking and labelling, and the sale and manufacture of novel foods. 
 
Carys also acts across the commercial disputes team and has advised on reputation management and privacy claims, international shareholder and contractual disputes and insolvency matters.

This Practice Note provides guidance on the obligations imposed on manufacturers, importers and authorised representatives under ecodesign legislation, including the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010, SI 2010/2617. These obligations are in respect of conformity assessments, declarations of conformity and product markings. It considers government policy to continue to recognise EU conformity markings for some products, and the Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment) Regulations 2024.
