This Practice Note provides a summary of selected employment cases on coronavirus (COVID-19) matters, covering topics such as automatic unfair dismissal for health and safety related reasons, pregnancy and furlough under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) and whether preconditions applying to an employer’s special paid leave policy were discriminatory. This coronavirus case tracker is intended to give a flavour of the types of cases that are being heard and an indication of the approach being taken by tribunals. It is not an exhaustive list of all pertinent cases.
