Tom is a leading Associate in the Sports Group at Mishcon de Reya and supports Simon Leaf in the day-to-day running of the group.
 
Tom advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters with a particular focus on regulatory issues (including financial fair play and third party ownership), sponsorship, image rights and disputes.
 
In 2021, Tom founded NIVO Management (a global esports and interactive entertainment business that is part of the Firm's MDR Brand Management offering). NIVO represents elite professionals in contract negotiations; develops bespoke strategies to maximise brand opportunities, including sponsorship and endorsement deals; and provides holistic management support utilising an extensive network of specialist advisors – from nutritionists and performance coaches to private client and legal expertise.
 
Tom is also Head of the Sports Law Academy (SLA) - an academic distance-learning programme designed for junior lawyers, students and non-legal professionals looking to gain a unique practical insight into contemporary sports law issues. Last year c.1,750 participants took part in the SLA from over 40 countries including from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, the Premier League, DAZN, the FA and the IOC as well as a number of current and former athletes, players and agents. 

In 2021, Tom was appointed to the Board of Directors of British Fencing – the body responsible for the overall governance, development and management of the sport of fencing in GB. The Board sets the strategic direction of the sport, appoints the CEO and monitors progress and results.
 
Tom is recognised as a 'Rising Star' in the Legal 500 (Sport) rankings and was described as being 'at the forefront of associate level solicitors specialised in sports law'.
