Anneli Robins

Anneli specialises in local government and property law. She has appeared in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal in cases raising unusual and complex points of public and housing law. Her practice is noteworthy for her level of call.

Ranked in both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500, Anneli is known for her client care, persuasive advocacy, tactical awareness, attention to detail, as well as her fearless pursuit of success. • Croydon LBC v Kalonga [2022] UKSC 7, [2022] 2 W.L.R. 592 - s.82 Housing Act 1985 – The correct way to determine fixed-term secure tenancies (including flexible tenancies);
• R. (on the application of Kalonga) v Croydon LBC [2022] EWCA Civ 670, [2022] P.T.S.R. 1568 – ss.107A – 107E Housing Act 1985 – Time limits and reviews. 
• Bullale v Westminster CC [2020] EWCA Civ 1587, [2021] H.L.R. 21 – s.191 Housing Act 1996 – “Becoming homeless intentionally”;
• Birmingham CC v Stephenson [2016] EWCA Civ 1029, [2016] H.L.R. 44 – s.15 Equality Act 2010 – “Discrimination arising from disability”, CPR Part 55 – Possession claim procedure;
 
Before coming to the Bar, Anneli excelled in her previous careers. She was part of the team that won six advertising awards for a single campaign for Shelter. She rose to the level of Business Development Director at Red Lion Chambers. She spearheaded the marketing for Mishcon de Reya’s private client, family and sports departments. Before that, she was employed by the local council in Sukagawa, Japan for two years to teach English language and culture to adults and children. As a result, she possesses skills and experience that both complement and augment her practice.
