Alex Clayton

Alex started her career in London, training at Baker & McKenzie LLP. Since joining Addleshaw Goddard's Infrastructure, Projects and Energy team in 2015, Alex has specialised in the energy and utilities sector, particularly in the electricity and downstream gas markets. Recent successes include:

  • advising SSE on the roll out of the next tranche of SSE's smart meter deployment programme, which will see 2.7 million meters installed in homes and small businesses in line with the government's ambitious implementation strategy;
  • acting for Scotia Gas Networks Limited on its flagship Gas to the West project, comprising new gas transmission and distribution infrastructure in the West of Northern Ireland; and
  • advising NIE Networks Limited on the implementation of contestability in the Northern Ireland electricity distribution market.
