Richard Dartnell
Richard is a Senior Legal Counsel at Aggregate Industries UK Limited, specialising in non-contentious construction & engineering law.
Richard worked for many years at Pinsent Masons before moving to become an in-house lawyer. Richard has extensive experience in advising on a range of construction contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC, FIDIC, MF/1 and bespoke forms) as well as sub-contracts, consultant appointments, bonds, guarantees and collateral warranties.
Before working in the construction materials sector, Richard advised on offshore windfarm, waste management, energy-from-waste, nuclear, education, housing, health, rail, hotels and office development projects. He also gained a wide amount of PFI/PPP experience, particularly in the waste, education and housing sectors.
Richard is a member of the Society of Construction Law and was previously a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ Contracts Steering Group. He wrote RICS’ Guidance Note on “Appropriate Contract Selection” which was published in November 2014.
