As part of your institution’s subscription to LexisNexis, we are delighted to be upgrading you to Lexis+. It provides you with access to the same brilliant legal content, but with superior technology and analytics.

Lexis+ has no learning curve, letting you quickly access superior research, data-driven insights, practical guidance from one place. You can add more value to your tasks with less effort.

We will be discontinuing our legacy products — so it is a vital change.

This is a two-stage process for academic institutions.

• Next few months
  • Faculty and library teams: You will have preview access to Lexis+. This will be delivered on a temporary ID to allow you the opportunity to access our full capabilities ahead of time.
• Start of 2022/2023 academic year
  • Faculty and library teams: You will receive your permanent ID and at this stage the temporary ID will no longer work. Please note that your settings from the temporary ID will not be ported over.
  • Student Population: They will experience Lexis+ for the first time and receive permanent IDs.

We are working with your institution to ensure the upgrade is as smooth as possible.

All of the LexisLibrary content (and more!) is now available in the Lexis+ Legal Research module. Accessing our legal content through Lexis+ gives you a new and easy to use interface, exceptionally powerful search and new AI-driven tools to help you find what you need.

All of the LexisPSL content (and more!) is now available in the Lexis+ Practical Guidance module. Accessing our Practical Guidance content through Lexis+ gives you a new and easy to use interface, an exceptionally powerful search and new AI-driven tools to help you find what you need.

Within Lexis+, the content you would have previously accessed through LexisLibrary can now be found in Legal Research.

Comprising the UK’s largest collection of up-to-date legislation, case law and commentary, you can access exclusive content including Halsbury’s Laws of England, Atkin’s Court Forms and more than 600,000 cases with commentary.

Legal Research from Lexis+ gives you far more than access to legal content. With powerful new search tools, AI analytics and an easy to use interface — you will be able to do more work with less effort. It is also fully integrated with Practical Guidance, so you can merge what the law says with what to do about it. All in one place.

The guidance content previously accessed through LexisPSL can now be found in Practical Guidance, within Lexis+.

Practical Guidance provides you with insight and intelligence to help you prepare lessons, plan exams and get your students career-ready. With ‘how to’ guidance, worked examples and tips, as well as precedents and clause banks, you can provide your students with practical examples of the legal work they’ll be doing in practice.

Practical Guidance is fully integrated with Legal Research on Lexis+, so you can see guidance and the underlying law it supports — all in one place.

Enter a search term once and we’ll automatically look through your subscriptions in both Practical Guidance and Legal Research for you.

Not only will you get a wider range of search results returned on a single search entry, but it may suggest some other relevant areas for you to consider.

We’ve made it easy to scan through your search results and spot where your search has the most results. We colour-code your search term and visually show you where the word or phrase crops up in the list of results. Check out our Video Hub to see it in action.

Onboarding

One of our Onboarding Specialists will schedule a 25-minute virtual session with you to highlight the key features and benefits of the platform; we can record and share the session with you. If you’ve previously used LexisLibrary or LexisPSL, we’ll show you what’s new and what’s changed.

You will also have access to additional support videos on our Video Hub.

If you’re unable to make one of the onboarding sessions, don’t worry as you can join a scheduled public session — just ask your Onboarding Specialist for details.

Ongoing training support

Once you’ve completed your onboarding, your dedicated Customer Success Manager will provide Lexis+ training when needed — please contact them to book a session at a time that works for you.

Once your upgrade to Lexis+ is complete, we’ll be running training for students throughout October and November.

One of our dedicated team of student trainers will schedule a virtual training day comprising up to three 2-hour sessions, in any combination of the following:

• 1st year students: ‘Introduction to Law’; Lexis+ training and Legal Research Foundation Certification
• 2nd year+ students: Training outlining the differences between LexisLibrary/LexisPSL and Lexis+ platforms together with Legal Research Advanced Certification

We can record and share the sessions and you will also have access to additional support videos on our Video Hub.
