Oliver Wheeler
Oliver is a Senior Associate in the Insolvency and Restructuring team at Walker Morris LLP.
Having trained at the firm, Oliver's practice now encompasses a broad range of insolvency and restructuring mandates including insolvency sales, debt restructuring and advice to boards of directors, as well as insolvency litigation with a particular focus on fraud and misfeasance.
Oliver's career highlights include:
• Being part of a three-person team which delivered the Part 26A restructuring plan of the Good Box Labs Co Limited, the only creditor led restructuring plan sanctioned to date and the first SME restructuring plan sanctioned outside of London.
• Working for several years on a complex c.£50m MTIC fraud case involving claims and enforcement in jurisdictions including England & Wales, Hong Kong, Singapore and the USA.
• Led on the reported case of Re Changtel Solutions UK Ltd [2022] EWHC 694 (Ch), a significant case in the development of the law on void dispositions.
• Was part of a global team, acting alongside several 'white shoe' firms in the USA and UK, advising on the purchase of the business and assets of a major telecoms business in administration, the Russian owners of which were subject to global sanctions.
• Leading on a large number of pre-pack sales, on both buy and sale side and acting for both trade and fund / private equity buyers, including in the rail, energy, food, manufacturing and retail sectors.
