Moazzam Khan heads the Global Litigation Practice at Nishith Desai Associates. He also heads the firm's HR Litigation Practice and the Internal Advocacy Unit. After attaining his law degree from Symbiosis Society's Law College (Symbiosis International University), Pune, he started his career with Bhasin & Co (New Delhi) in 2007 before moving on to Nishith Desai in 2012. He represents clients across various sectors and industries, including manufacturing, IT, hospitality, funds, PE, and Aviation. His forte has been advising clients on various cross-border litigations and international commercial arbitrations, with a special focus on investment-related disputes. Enforcement of international arbitration awards and foreign judgments in India is another area Moazzam is consistently engaged in. He has authored and co-authored a number of articles and research papers with a focus on arbitration and commercial litigation, including co-authoring the book Enforcing Arbitral Awards in India (LexisNexis, 2017). Moazzam was recently awarded the Young Achiever Award in India Legal Awards by a jury comprised of legal luminaries, including Mr Soli Sorabjee (Padma Vibhushan; Former Attorney General), Mr Tushar Mehta (Addl. Solicitor General of India), and Mr Lalit Bhasin (President of the Bar Association of India and Managing Partner at Bhasin & Co). The RSG India Report 2017 recognizes Moazzam as an 'impressive advocate,' describing him as 'experienced' and 'knowledgeable'.

This Practice Note discusses challenges to the jurisdiction of an arbitral tribunal under the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 (ACA 1996), as amended, and anti-suit injunctions.
