I am a professional support lawyer in Eversheds Sutherlands’ marketing leading pensions team. I provide strategic advice to a range of clients, including some of the UK’s largest defined benefit pension schemes, employers, master trusts and pension providers.

I am responsible for identifying new and emerging legal, regulatory, policy and commercial risks for clients and developing solutions to address and mitigate these. I train and mentor colleagues, lead strategic projects and draft complex legal agreements.

I work closely with a range of industry bodies to help ensure pensions policy, legislation and regulation works effectively. Highlights include:

• chairing the Pension and Lifetime Savings Association’s Legal Advisory Group

• sitting on the small pots industry working group which developed solutions to tackle the proliferation of stranded small pots

• helping draft PASA’s GMP equalisation methodology guidance, and

• taking part in industry roundtables with HMRC on the LTA abolition and the proposed pensions and IHT changes.
