Saira Choonka

Saira specialises in corporate and financial crime investigations work and she was ranked as a key lawyer in the Legal 500 2020 for Risk Advisory work in relation to Regulatory Investigations and Corporate Crime (advice to corporates). She is a leading principal associate specialising in running complex, large scale corporate crime and enforcement investigations and advising on consequential criminal and regulatory exposure, disclosure, the application of legal privilege and devising risk mitigation strategies. She represents a range of multinationals and financial institutions in these areas and has established key relationships with these clients, leading to significant repeat instructions. Saira also advises on the implementation of effective AML, Fraud and ABC compliance programmes. Saira was the lead lawyer, successfully representing the SFO in SFO v ENRC Ltd [2017] EWHC 1017 (QB) (08 May 2017).
