Ali is co-head of our global investigations and corporate crime practice and, with a record of acting on major cross-border and domestic investigations for clients in all sectors, is a recognised leader and ‘stand-out’ name in the UK market. 
 
With a record of acting on major cross-border and domestic investigations for clients in all sectors, she specialises in corporate and financial crime defence and regulatory enforcement actions, particularly defending actions brought by the SFO and the FCA as well as overseas authorities. Ali has significant experience handling false accounting, fraud, bribery/corruption, market abuse/manipulation, money-laundering and terrorism-related matters).
 
Ali has been involved in negotiating some of the leading resolutions of major corporate issues in the UK in recent years. However, much of Ali’s work remains confidential, having successfully resolved sensitive matters without public outcome.
 
Ali sat on the firm’s Responsible Business Board and is co-sector group leader for Freshfields leading pro bono practice. She is actively involved as a Mentor, Ambassador or Ally in many of the firm’s initiatives around diversity and inclusion and mental health and wellbeing including the Freshfields Stephen Lawrence initiative and BAN Network. Outside of Freshfields, since 2005 she has been a Trustee and member of the Finance and Employment Committee for the UK charity Royal Courts of Justice and Islington Citizens Advice Bureau.
