Judgment on a claim without a trial, where the defendant has failed to file either an acknowledgment of service or a defence.

Default judgment is governed by the provisions of the Civil Procedure Rules r 12. It is an administrative act, and can be set aside under the provisions of the Civil Procedure Rules r 13.
