The Prospectus Regulation (EU) 2017/1129 (EU Prospectus Regulation) provides for a single regime throughout the EU governing the requirement for a prospectus when securities are admitted to trading on a regulated market and/or when they are offered to the public.

The EU Prospectus Regulation came into force on 20 July 2017 and the majority of its provisions applied in the EU from 21 July 2019 when the Prospectus Directive ceased to have effect. For information on the Prospectus Directive, see Practice Note: The Prospectus Directive.
