Staff training & awareness

The procedures put in place to implement an organisation’s bribery prevention policies should be designed to mitigate identified risks, as well as to prevent deliberate unethical conduct on the part of associated persons. An important aspect of those procedures is the communication of the firm’s policies and procedures to staff (of all levels), and training in their application. This is reinforced by MoJ principle 5—Communication (including training), outlined in its guidance to the Bribery Act 2010.

This subtopic contains Practice Note: Anti-bribery and corruption—staff communication, training and awareness, which discusses some of the ways organisations can train staff and raise awareness about anti-bribery and corruption issues. It also contains the following Precedents:

  1. Indicators of corruption—for staff

  2. Training materials—anti-bribery and corruption for law firms

  3. Anti-bribery and corruption for law firms—post-training assessment questions

  4. Anti-bribery
